Explore the Regency Era of Jane Austen with YTL’s The Gainsborough Bath Spa

by Adam & Megan

Netflix is transporting viewers back to the Regency Era with a much-anticipated adaptation of one of Jane Austen’s most romantic stories, Persuasion.

To celebrate its upcoming release on 15th July 2022, Austen fans can visit The Gainsborough Bath Spa, the ideal setting for grandeur and sophistication and a stone’s throw from where the new film was shot.

The Gainsborough Bath Spa offers guests a taste of living in an Austen novel with classic British afternoon tea and a prime location in the heart of the city, neighbouring the Bath Assembly Rooms, Roman Baths and Holburne Museum.

The storybook cobbled streets carry you through regal architecture at every turn, all once explored by Jane Austen herself, who lived in Bath from 1801 to 1806.

Persuasion is known as one of Austen’s most distinct novels for its deeply felt, melancholy tone, the ideal antidote to which is a luxurious spa day at the hotel’s award-winning Spa Village.

The only hotel to offer direct access to the city’s natural thermal waters, guests can look forward to an indulgent spa experience.

Those looking to go all out can stay at The Townhouse, a private Georgian property that combines the space of a private home with the five-star services of a luxury hotel.

Offering accommodation over four floors The Townhouse is perfect for any Austen fan to imagine a visit from one of her famous characters.

Nightly rates at The Gainsborough Bath Spa start from £290 on a room-only basis.
