Explore a journey of artistic discovery through beautiful Taungurung Country and marvel at historic installations inspired by the theme of connections in regional Victoria on the Great Victorian Rail Trail.
Built by eight commissioned artists, the 134km trail follows the historic railway line that operated between Tallarook and Mansfield, with an additional spur line linking the trail to Alexandra.
The trail can be enjoyed by everyone in different ways – whether it’s by foot, bike or horse riding and comes with short to long routes mapped out on their website.
The trail consists of particular sites where artists explore their connection to country, connection to the local environment, connection to the history of the trail as well as connection to community.
Artworks are spread along the trail and located across three Shires – Mitchell, Murrindindi and Mansfield.
