Hilton Lake Como is serving up an assortment of gourmet experiences for guests this autumn with a range of new Culinary and Cocktail Masterclasses.
From pasta-making with the pros to biscuit decorating and experimental cocktail classes at the five-star property’s newly refurbished rooftop bar and restaurant, those looking to indulge in a spot of the dolce vita will be spoilt for choice.
The culinary classes will be held at Hilton Lake Como‘s fully equipped private kitchen while mixology sessions will take place at the sumptuous Taffeta bar or the newly re-designed Terrazza 241 bar and restaurant, offering stunning views across the lake.
‘The Art of Pasta’ Masterclass
There is little more iconically Italian than a plate of delicious pasta, but what are the secrets to crafting that perfect primi? At Hilton Lake Como’s ‘The Art of Pasta’ masterclass, budding chefs will learn the techniques needed to create the most delectable of pasta dishes.
From achieving the optimum thickness and ‘al-dente’ bite, mastering flavour combinations, and even discovering the odd family secret passed down through the generations, students will learn to make and cook their own fresh pasta the old-fashioned way. Led by Executive Chef Stefano Ghielmetti, the class will even receive their own branded apron and chef’s hat.
For the cherry (tomato!) on top, guests can tuck into their pasta together – famiglia style – once cooked. That’s amore!
Pasta-making classes take place from 6.30 pm every Wednesday and Friday in Hilton Lake Como’s Private Kitchen for €45 per person. Reservations are required a minimum of 72 hours in advance.
‘Experimental Mixology’ Masterclass
Cocktail aficionados will be expertly catered for with Hilton Lake Como’s new ‘Experimental Mixology’ classes led by Terrazza 241’s talented bar brigade. This one-hour masterclass will see participants shake up a variety of the exclusive cocktails served at the iconic lakeside sipping spot, where an emphasis on creativity and storytelling sees locals and residents alike returning night after night for their aperitivo fix.
During the session, participants will learn the smoking, dry ice, bubbling and other decorative techniques sure to bring a touch of magic and to wow their friends and family long after they return home. They will recreate the showstopping Signature Smoked Negroni – served in a bell jar filled with the grounding scent of smoked thyme – as well as a hot cocktail perfect for the colder months. The Zen hot cocktail blends an antioxidant green tea base, ginger and guava, with the option to add Rivo gin and Luxardo maraschino liqueur for an alcoholic kick!
Students will also enjoy a range of delicious finger foods to complement their creations throughout the class.
Guests can choose to extend their experience by tasting a range of other cocktails from the bar’s award-winning menu, such as the sensational Blue Jeans – a mixture of coffee-infused Campari, fennel martini and orange bitters served in a funky denim-covered glass.

Biscuit Decoration for all the Famiglia
Culinary fun awaits for all ages at Hilton Lake Como, where the littlest of guests will adore the chance to participate in complimentary biscuit decorating sessions on the 11th and 18th of November.
This family-focused offering will see budding bakers tap into their creative side to decorate a range of delicious, fun-shaped biscotti with a selection of icings, colours, sprinkles and authentic Italian toppings!
Biscuit Decoration classes will take place at 11 a.m. on both Saturday 11th and 18th of November, free of charge for in-house guests and suitable for all ages.
Nightly rates at Hilton Lake Como begin at 350 Euros per night based on double occupancy with breakfast included.
